Angela Josephine's Profile

About

Singer. Songwriter. Seeker of the sacred in the simple stuff.

"Along a lonely shore of Lake Michigan in the crisp, early days of autumn, I happened upon a woman draped in sunlight and donning a wide-brimmed hat. She danced at the edge of the water for nobody’s pleasure but her own. And so I began to paint."

I feel fortunate to have grown up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, a wild and beautiful region that taught me to see the simple as sublime. I continue to live and breathe and find my being in Northern Michigan and seek out the sacred in its snowy hills and starry skies. Those glimpses - born of wind, water, sand, stone, branch and bracken - work their way through me to live on canvas, in photos and in song as something new.
