Stef Clendenen's Profile
I learned to crochet sitting side-by-side with my mother and getting my fingers tangled up in yarn more often than not. She learned to crochet from her mother, and someday, I'll teach whichever one of my kids wants to learn. It's a family tradition that gets re-interpreted with each generation.
My mom does fine detail work, intricate stitches and epic projects. Me, I'm more into smaller projects (such as baby hats) using simple stitches in oddball creative ways. I can only imagine what my kiddos will do with it.
That's what I love about crochet. It seems so structured and predictable, but it's totally influenced by the artist whose hands are tangled in the yarn.
