About

My jewelry design is infused with an appreciation of time that has passed and a nod of appreciation to my family history. Inspired by antiques, the decorative arts, and the documentation of a different time and place. There is a beautiful history within these pieces of the past. I desire to honor them by giving them a new life in a fresh modern design.

Some of the work has evolved over time from an extension of my gallery work that often included geographical references, charting, and jewelry-like elements to create sculptural and installation pieces. Maps are in my blood. My great grandmother, who is also my namesake, was a single young independent working woman in the late 19th and early 20th century, which was not the norm for ladies at that time. She was employed away from her hometown, as an assistant to a cartographer, in Washington DC. Although I never had the opportunity to meet her, her life and story continue to be an inspiration to me.

I work exclusively in recycled precious metals and I do all of the metalsmithing in my work using little more than my two hands, hand tools and a torch. Each item I make is given individual attention and extreme care beginning to end. The quality you will find is evident in the details.
