Annie Hancock's Profile

About

I live out in the country on an island in the Pacific Northwest that is very quiet and beautiful and gives me lots of space to make things. I have a degree in ceramics from the Kansas City Art Institute, but I'm a perpetual student; I love taking classes whenever I can. When I am not making pottery I am usually cooking or working in the garden. I am very interested in the world around me and I read avidly; I usually listen to lectures and non-fiction books while I am working in the studio. I am currently obsessed with Malcom Gladwell, although I'm not sure how that is affecting the look of my pottery. If I have free time I like to indulge my amateur naturalist aspirations; I love identifying birds, plants and hunting for edible wild mushrooms.
