This is the story of how the collaboration of AntiMatter Glass came about.
I started blowing glass in 1996 in Providence R.I.. I was shown the basics of studio safety and glass work from a friend of mine who had started about 4 months earlier. Before glass, I did gallery photography, commercial art, illustration and book binding. I am completely self taught, and that approach helped me to create a style that is relatively unique in the glass scene. I noticed something early on in glass, and that was that pipe scene was very male oriented. Half of the market was being ignored, so I pushed my style in that direction from the start. In 2000 I moved to Hawaii, and opened a few glass stores. I noticed something from the retail side of sales with glass and that is that 90% of the glass being purchased was between $30.00 and $60.00.
