About

I have done everything from bartending to fueling aircraft in the Air Force to starting and running a small restaurant with my boyfriend. I also taught special ed children for 8 years, had my own business teaching computer skills. "Craftwise," I started making things when I was very young - my parents were both very creative, with my mother being a self-taught interior designer, an artist, and seamstress who sewed most of my clothes (she started teaching me to sew when I was 5,) and my father being an artist not to mention a renaissance man who could build a house from the ground up by himself - he owned a jewelry store where he designed and made jewelry, was a deep sea charter captain on his two boats, and a bomber pilot in WWII. I spent my childhood watching him paint after he retired from the Air Force and learning woodworking, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, tile and bricklaying, and roofing from him, while going to antique shops…

I spent my childhood watching him paint after he retired from the Air Force and learning woodworking, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, tile and bricklaying, and roofing from him, while going to antique shops with my mother and grandmother.
When I wasn't at home, I spent many days and nights at my grandmother's house, which was full of antique everything! My grandmother and grandfather did painting restoration and were both artists. I am a disabled vet and, recently, my disability has prevented me from working outside the home.
My creative side was nurtured while my parents were alive. I enjoy sewing, papercrafts, jewelry-making, I crochet a little, but my love is scale miniatures. I started a miniature business when my son was born 22 years ago. Because of all my other jobs throughout the years, I had to put the miniatures aside for awhile, but I am slowly getting my workroom back in order and you will see more miniatures in my shop as time goes by.
I am also a little fanatical about saving this beautiful planet that is our home. I am doing my best to do my little part - you will see more upcycled clothing and other recycled and upcycled items added to my shop over time, as well.
I have enjoyed meeting some wonderful, creative people on Etsy - it feels like home to me :-)
