I've been making chainmail jewelry for nearly 15 years now, with a couple of years of a break in there. When my wife and I had our first son, I didn't have a lot of space in our tiny house to work. So all of the sharp, tiny, shiny bits got put away. Now I'm back at it, and will also soon be expanding to making my own charms, pendants, and metal beads.
I'm a stay at home father as you may have guessed, as our son starts to go to school I will be able to expand operations and hopefully get some of the creative designs stuck in my head in the real world ;-) My wife is a night shift nurse, and being that health care professionals are the most at risk for car accidents (12hr shifts can do that to you). I gladly drive my wife to work and pick her up every morning. This creates a very difficult schedule to work with, so getting a job outside of the house isn't really in the cards for me. But I am happy to be back to sharing my jewelry creations with the world.
