Arlene Watson's Profile

About

I am a fiber artist living in Southern California. I employ the Nuno Felt process in making scarves, pillows, purses, wall hangings, and other accessories and design items.

Nuno is a wet felting process that combines natural fibers such as wool, alpaca, camel, cashmere and mohair to name just a few, with natural and synthetic fabrics, yarns, ribbons, lace, vintage fabrics and other found elements.
The fibers act as a sort of glue to bind the other materials together creating an intriguing new fabric.

My scarves, pillow tops, purses and wall hangings all begin with this magical process. I love working in this medium which produces uniquely organic results.

I have also added hand spun art yarns to my fiber tool bag, and they are listed here as well.
