About

Thanks for taking the time to meet the craftsman behind the name, ArtisTree Revealed. I'm Jake Brandon....My love for wood begins in the forest. I love everything about being out there...the smells, the movement of the trees, the textures. I have always had a passion for wood but decided to make it my profession 14 years ago.

I had lost my job and my wife said "if you could do anything, what would you do?". My reply?...."Make things out of wood". My wife was quite surprised but I had always loved wood shop class and somehow knew I would excel at it. That's when I decided to take a leap and leave the field I was trained in, CAD (Computer Aided Drafting), and seek employment in a wood shop. Trees and Wood

I did indeed find a job, actually within a few days, and also realized my inclination to work with wood was the right path for me. I loved it and recieved 3 raises within a 1 year period. I just knew what to do with it and as I learned, I truly excelled.

Years ago when I began to work with wood and turn on the lathe, I realized how truly amazing each piece of wood is. It's beauty is locked away inside and only when the tree is 'revealed', that's when you begin to see how wonderfully unique each and every piece is....no two are exactly alike...every piece revealed is a beautifully surprising gift of the forest.

After getting a home lathe, I had posted a wood pen on my Facebook page for my friends to see what I had been up to. To my surprise...I sold it! It started out just a "see what I made?" and ended up sparking a creative side I didn't even know I had. I now make everything from Culinary cutting boards and bowls, to jewelry and Mach3 Razors.

I love what I do and encourage you..... look to the forest for functional art!

Feel free to "conversation click" as I always appreciate feedback of any kind.

I hope you will continue to browse my items and come to appreciate what a wonderful gift we have in a tree.

Make it a Wonderful Day!
