Annett Malone's Profile

About

Hi! Thanks for stopping by my shop. My name is Annett and I live in Southern California with 4 boys; my husband, Ben, and our cats Hendrix, Chavez and Winston.

I’m constantly working on some sort of craft project; whether it is sewing, scrapbooking, quilting, or other various DIY projects… even my wedding in 2008 featured many DIY projects. I’ve always loved to make and create things; keeping my hands and mind busy was always enjoyable for me … the majority of my projects begin with a vision in my head, and I love the challenge of making that vision into a reality.

I decided to open my Etsy shop after I was laid off in 2008 after eleven years at my job in corporate America (I was laid off 3 months after returning from my honeymoon, by the way). Needless to say, it was a tough time, and after months and months of unsuccessful job searching I decided to sit down and work…

About

Needless to say, it was a tough time, and after months and months of unsuccessful job searching I decided to sit down and work on a project to help occupy my mind.

Besides working with my hands, some of my favorite pastimes are shopping for #1 handbags and #2 shoes. In fact, in my early twenties I could often be found in a thrift store or antique shops looking for vintage handbags (I still do that whenever I have the chance). Since being unemployed was not conducive to shopping / spending money, I decided to try my hand at MAKING handbags. Neckties seemed like an obvious choice because of their unique and funky patterns (especially in vintage neckties); I decided to go for it and after some trial and error with my homemade patterns, I loved the finished product.

My creative juices started flowing and in addition to handbags and clutches I saw the endless possibilities for new products that feature cool necktie patterns … and the rest is history!

I am constantly creating new products so please keep checking back. ~Thanks, Annett
