One of my first memories was when I was 4 or 5 years old, there was a freezing pea souper outside but my mum and I were snug and cozy sitting around a roaring coal fire, both of us knitting I remember we had the same colour pale blue wool, mum was making a jumper for my sister and I was making one for my doll. I don't remember how my doll's jumper turned out , I can only imagine it was full of snags and holes but I was so happy doing that knitting, I felt very grown up and thought I was almost as clever as mum. That was my first attempt at knitting, when I got older I used to knit my own school cardigans, soon after that It seemed natural to make my own patterns up and when my own children came along I was in my element designing their small clothes and I often knitted for friends who didn't knit themselves.

From a young age I loved to draw and paint and I believe I was quite good at it but didn't keep it up, I suppose once I started working, I was in an office all day and would go out with my friends every evening, there wasn't much time for painting.
I married young, then the children came along and I didn't seem to get much time for myself. It was when they were all grown up that I started a weekly painting class, I learned a lot and was really happy every moment that I painted and have been painting ever since
I live in Essex now with my husband and 2 tiny dogs, a yorkie and a chihuahua. We have some amazing scenery near to where we live and every morning, rain or shine, we take our dogs for a walk to an open field or a wood. We never get bored with these wonderful natural places, we thank God that we are near to them. These beautiful woods, fields and streams give me inspiration for the things I want to make.
Thank you very much reading this and I hope you enjoy looking around my shop.
