Anastasia Domanou's Profile

About

Hello everybody!

My name is Anastasia and I am from Greece. Polymer clay entered my life when I was younger but since my access to books, tutorials and tools was very limited back then I soon gave up and started looking for something else to fill my free time.

At 2011, though, after realizing what a powerful tool the internet could be for a crafter I decided to start working with polymer clay again. The most important nudge to picking up my clay was a Christi Friesen's tutorial I stumbled upon. One thing led to another and there I was purchasing all of her books, as well as some others too! Then it was time for some beads, headpins, wires, tools, and a pasta machine!

I've been playing around with polymer clay almost every single day since then and I feel like I've found the hobby of my life!…

I've been playing around with polymer clay almost every single day since then and I feel like I've found the hobby of my life!

There are lots of artists that have been a great inspiration for me:
* Christi Friesen with her amazing books that have been a great source of inspiration and guidance!
* Tory Hughes and her astonishing work with post stamps and polymer clay!
* Sue Heaser, Julie Picarello, Donna Kato, Lisa Pavelka and so many others that were so kind as to write all those amazing books sharing their techniques and secrets!

The themes that inspire me most are: Steampunk, mixed media, sea life, nature, Mythical Creatures.

Sometimes I like taking a break from creating with polymer clay in order to clear my mind and open it up for new ideas. At those points I like crocheting or knitting some small projects that will keep my hands busy and my mind free. Thus, from time to time you might see some yarny treats in my shop!
