Melissa Wartenberg
Melissa Wartenberg is a self taught professional artist, photographer and looks really good in a beard.
Being involved in conventions across Canada as a vendor and sometimes as a guest speaker, Melissa spends a lot of time drinking tea and leading as the head Administrator (Commodore) for her local Steampunk group (The Official Edmonton Steampunk Group) in her hometown, Edmonton AB Canada when not traveling to conventions to sell her limited edition handmade work in person.
Melissa is currently most noted for her work within the genre and style of Steampunk, specifically her custom eye wear designs that includes both original eye wear styles and restored and/or repaired antique and vintage glasses.
You can purchase her work that you see in her photography through her online etsy shop AtticRaiders and see what the latest accessory to debut is by checking out her official social media pages on Facebook, Tumblr and Instagram.

The long Bio ____________________________
Self taught, looks good in a beard and an artist with a physical limitation. I am a professional artist that specializes in the genre and style of Steampunk, as well as the photographer for all the images for AtticRaiders, and have been in the business full-time since 2009.
Despite a physical handicap (I literally make things with one hand), I've been appearing at conventions to sell my handmade work for over ten years, delighting fans and customers with my clever accessory designs that are travel friendly, compact and reusable for a variety of purposes! Sometimes a bump to the head literally changes your life and for me a major truck accident that left me as a permanent hemiplegic was the eureka moment that prompted me to take my work to the public stage.
In 2017 AtticRaiders created a Waste Reduction Creed: "To do more with less and leave little behind." It means that every item has been designed to be as efficient as possible with as little material used to leave as little scraps or leftovers behind as possible. My studio has bags that I collect all my scraps in and throughout the year periodically they are sorted and matched up with the best design to suit the leftovers. Putting less into our landfills and offering more cool things for our use in one swoop!
Whats with the beard comment you ask? AtticRaiders is also an ally to LGBTQIA individuals and folks who simply enjoy dressing in drag. All of the male models you see showcasing my work are, in fact, women dressed up to appear as men ( known as drag kings) in order to help me diversify the gender representation in my shop in a unique way..
Many fun and delightful pictures of my work, can be found through my Etsy shop Attic Raiders, Deviant Art gallery and Facebook page.
