Melissa is currently most noted for her work within the genre and style of Steampunk, specifically her custom eye wear designs inspired by the vintage and antique styles popular as far back as the 1890’s and recreating them for costume use.
With her work she organizes, models, photographs and collaborates with other local models to continue to provide visually appealing images of her creative work.

You can purchase her work that you see in her photography through her online etsy shop AtticRaiders ( www.AtticRaiders.etsy.com ) or through her secondary business The Attic ( www.intheattic.ca ) which prominently features handsome brass and wood work accessories with limited edition lace fans, parasols and mechanical pocket watches.

The long Bio:

Model, Photographer and (as I like to call myself) a handi-capable artist. I am a professional artist, photographer and model and have been in the business full-time since 2009 when I opened up my store to sell my work online and at conventions across Canada. Despite a physical handicap that leaves me with one hand and one leg to work with, I've been appearing at conventions to also host panels and speak about the genre and style I love so much - Steampunk - and helping folks explore what Steampunk is and how they can get involved too. (I literally make things with one hand.)

Back in my home studio, located in Edmonton, Ab Canada, I work with a wide variety of materials like sterling silver and leather, to produce limited edition items which I bring to local shows to sell in person. Many fun and delightful pictures of my work, can be found through my Etsy shop Attic Raiders, on my Flicker page, Deviant Art gallery and Facebook page.
