About

Hi there!
And welcome to AutumnJo ~ boutique chic for your party week... I’m Autumn Jo :o)
Yes that is my real name, but my family and friends have always had nicknames for me:
* A.J. ~ for the less creative folks, but easy to use for those Starbucks orders
* autjo ~ for my personal etsy account and bestdestinationwedding.com/forum
* Button ~ for those of you with cell phones that do not have full keypads, T9 Autumn

2010 marked the year of my 30th birthday and the year I started my etsy shop. After many hours of debating etsy names, I found myself heading back to my almost 30 year old roots. Essentially I love that my parents gave me a unique name and I couldn’t imagine opening a store without some mention of me in the title! So welcome AutumnJo to the etsy scene!…

I get my stylishly good looks from my mom and her mom (Grandma), seriously you would do a double take between her 1938 graduation picture and mine taken in 1999. But this shop inspiration comes from my dad and his mom (Omie). My dad is an entrepreneur at heart always piddling with some new opportunity. He bought our first computer in 1986 and I started creating birthday cards and welcome banners with Print Shop and a dot matrix printer. I carried this love of computers to college, majored in Computer Science and now work full time in the IT field. As a hobby I enjoy playing on my PC and MAC. On the other hand, my Omie was this fabulously creative women who taught me how to embroider when I turned 7. She always had a ton of craft projects going and I fondly remember making little Thanksgiving place cards with turkey stickers or sorting through her vintage buttons and gluing them on clothespins. I know that if she was still alive she would be helping me design, snip, stick and ship all of the items in my shop.

I also can’t do a bio without mentioning my wonderful husband. We were married in 2009 and he was so helpful and supportive in all of my wedding antics. We seriously had 3 wedding events... legally married at the Little White Wedding Chapel in Vegas, dashed away to Dreams Puerto Vallarta for an intimate ceremony and reception with 50 of our closest family and friends, and then celebrated with a small town BBQ in the Texas Hill Country. In an effort to save some money, but still have a special wedding season, I gave DIY projects a whirl and came up with items like: a logo that branded every event, passport invitations with boarding pass RSVPs, and tons of other projects that just brightened my day. From this experience I found that I missed crafting and my hubby encouraged me to share my renewed love with etsy.

I hope that you can find a smile in my work, and enjoy browsing and buying from AutumnJo!
