Carolyn Shepard Miller is a lifelong artist whose talents span not only the years but also art forms and media. After working as a metalsmith and owning a successful Etsy shop for many years, Ms. Miller decided to return to her true passion: painting. "Painting is a tactile experience for my hands and mind," she explained. "I feel best when sitting in my studio with paintbrush in hand. I get in the zone."

Her watercolors express exuberance and a love of color, hues and tones. "Painting smaller watercolor pieces allows me to enjoy an intimacy with my art, which I hope you will too," she said.

Ms. Miller studied graphic arts at Northern Virginia Community College and art history at George Mason University.

Her multi-generational uncle and cousins are depicted in the oil painting informally known as The Family, titled Bellelli Family by Edgar Degas, 1858-1867

In February and March of 2015 her paintings were exhibited in the Waverly Street Gallery 20+20 show in Bethesda, MD.
