About

When I started Bead Me A Story a few years ago, it was all about the beads. In 2009 a friend of mine and I got the idea to have rubber orings made in pretty colors to go along with our beads. Little did I know at the time that these wonderful orings would become the core of my business and that I'd fall in love with chain maille.

All of my orings are custom made by an industrial manufacturer. These are the same orings you see used in cars, plumbing and space shuttles. The tough part has been getting the colors just right. In the past several years I've been building this line of colors and listening very carefully to my customers and what they want. It takes a long time to build a line such as this but I believe the choices I have in my store at this point are just wonderful.

We are still working out some of the color kinks and trying new colors and sizes each season but I do believe at this point we have a better selection than any other vendor in the field.

Most of our o-rings are made of buna rubber which is a very hiqh quality with good tensile strength and tear resistance. These are non-latex rubber. We have also begun working with EPDM rubber which has better resistance to UV Rays and Ozone. Both types of rubber are durable but care should be taken not to expose them to mineral oil (it's natural enemy) and also try to avoid exposure to any strong solvents such as in nail salons.

To go along with the orings, I carry a wonderful line of jump rings, pewter and other beads. I love to see what can be worked into chain maille patterns and have been bead weaving and jewelry making for 20 years now so sometimes, I just love a bead that I find and make it available to customers.

I hope you enjoy my store. Please convo me with any questions or comments.
