Where did the name Bear Rubber Stamps come from? My family calls me BK Bear. In naming my business, at first I thought “Bare” Rubber Stamps. Then my husband asked, “What logo will you use?” On second thought, how about “Bear Rubber Stamps.”
Bear Rubber Stamps has been around since 1985 and has seen many changes. I started out hand setting my stamps the “old fashion way”. Yes, trays and trays of lead type! I thought I’d died and gone to heaven when I switched to photo typesetting. The “computer” weighed 750 lbs, a 450 lb graphic arts camera, and all that goes with developing negatives. Welcome to the twentieth century. Now the computer is 30 lbs and the “camera” is a high-end graphics printer. You have to love technology!
