Beaver Brown's Profile

About

My designing started back in Massachusetts when my son and daughter were very small. I gave them wooden beads to string to help with their manual dexterity. They strung me a necklace and I wore it to work and had requests to make and sell. A light bulb lit up in my mind and I started a business making jewelry. My jewelry was sold in Casual Corners, local boutiques and the local department stores. The local newspaper did a full page story on me and my Jewelry I made from nuts, bolts and other hardware. About

My designing started back in Massachusetts when my son and daughter were very small. I gave them wooden beads to string to help with their manual dexterity. They strung me a necklace and I wore it to work and had requests to make and sell. A light bulb lit up in my mind and I started a business making jewelry. After moving here to California I decided I would start my business up. Macy's in San Francisco hired me to model and the Fashion Director liked the way I wrapped my head in unique ways in scarves I made. I was hired as a guest designer and showed customers many ways to wrap their heads.I started designing fabric jewelry and called them Neck Knots and a SF boutique saw a newspaper feature on me and contacted me to be guest designer and sell my "neck knots" line.

After awhile I stopped designing to do stand-up comedy. Remarried and became a new mom and was a "backstage mom " to my modeling baby. Now with kids grown I started designing wearable art and jewelry again between working as an art docent at a local art museum and working as a barista at Starbucks (7 yrs.). I retired recently. Presently I have new ideas floating in my head and then I discovered Etsy.com and here I am.

I hope you like my shop. I am continuing to design more things to upload.
