My jewelry collection is a world of travel inspired wearable art that is handcrafted in my studio in Santa Barbara.
I began making jewelry as a child stringing beads into interesting color patterns. They went everywhere with me. At the age of thirteen I was fortunate enough to have an art metals course as an elective in middle school- I would sign up for every art class available. I fell in love with metal. My teacher, Joie Hertzfeldt, would work with me on special projects after school, and twenty years later, I still wear pieces of jewelry that I made in that class.
At Lawrence University, I studied art and art history, which took me abroad to study in Florence, Italy where we focused on architecture, sculpture and painting. I found something in these varied mediums and styles of expression from Celtic illuminated manuscripts and metal…
