Growing up in the 70's, I wore whatever my mom would charge on her Sears card – period. I'd lie on our shag carpet, chin in hand, poring over thick catalogs and compiling vast lists of everything my little heart desired. Then I'd go play with my Barbies, watch Little House on the Prairie or read a juicy Nancy Drew mystery.
Fortunately for me, I discovered the joy of thrift stores in high school and it wasn't long before I preferred the musty, slightly tattered or otherwise imperfect item to the brand new. I populate my shop with items I've used and loved and others I've discovered along the way, certain they deserve a second (or third, or fourth) chance.
