Hello! Welcome to "Bijoux d'Annie" - French for "Jewels from Annie".

Born into a midwest family of eight children, I am an artist, art teacher, overseas traveler, and mother of two grown sons. A couple of tabby cats keep me company here at home and challenge my sanity on a regular basis.

I began honing my design skills at an early age while designing clothes for my paper dolls. You guessed it, the 1950's! Through college and over the ensuing years my interests and art experiences have been varied, from macrame to toll painting, producing stationary and prints for a wellknown basket company in Ohio, sewing and quilting, painting, sketching, and a little digital photography.

Since childhood I have loved many of the materials I use in designing my jewelry today. Fossils, shells, stones, colorful antique glass and beach glass, have always been favorite finds along shorelines or hillsides. Although my bead 'finds' are now purchased from a dealer, there are still many "oooohs" and "ahhhhs" involved, I must admit. Czech glass and semiprecious stones top my favorites list.

It was several years ago, while looking for some replacement beads for a pair of earrings in my local bead shop that I became enchanted with all I saw. I didn't find the beads I was after, but I did find several lovely friends through the classes I signed on for and even landed a part time job there for a few years while teaching elementary art full time. Doing what I loved there laid the foundation for what I love doing today - designing beautiful jewelry with wonderful natural and man-made materials especially for you.

I hope you enjoy what you see and thanks for stopping by!
