I trained in textiles at Central St Martins and then weave at The Royal College Art at postgraduate level. I then worked for many years in the commercial textile & furniture industry designing upholstery fabrics, sofas, cabinet furniture & rugs but eventually I became disenchanted by the use of mass production techniques.
I missed the art of actually making stuff with my hands. In 2003 I set up my company, Bombus. We create hand-made gifts, home accessories and one-off art pieces, most of which are created using the age-old technique of découpage. We are now a team of 15 working from a studio in rural Kent in the South East of England.
