About

I'm Bonnie and I'm BONKERS for beads!!!!!! and hope you are too : ) Let me tell you a little bit about myself.

It all started in the early 1980's after the birth of my first child. My mother bought some beads and started playing with them. I was intrigued! There was no internet...there was no one to inspire me...it was just me. Oh my... you should have seen my first designs LOLOLOL but everybody wanted them! They were different. Nobody was making what I made. It helped, though I didn't know it at the time, that I live in Rhode Island so I had access to many wonderful vintage supplies.

On the weekends my hubby would watch my son while I did craft and home shows.
One day while my son (and later sons) were napping and I was watching my soaps, a light bulb went off...I decided to send some of my jewelry to my favorite characters on my favorite Soap Operas. THEY WORE THEM ON THE AIR!!!!!!! I was THRILLED beyond belief to see Felicia Jones (Kristina Malandro Of General Hospital), Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring of GH), and Tina Lord (Andrea Evans of One Life To Live) wear my designs! Then they went on to wear them on various talk shows!!!!!! What a thrill!

Well..Fast forward another several years...my fingers started to ache when along came Ebay. I started selling on Ebay in 1998 initially to sell off my supplies and lo and behold Bonkers For Beads was started and I am LOVING every minute of it!

Follow your dreams people.....one of my favorite parts of designing was the hunt for spectacular beads. My dream has come true. I wake up everyday and can honestly say I love my job....job....it doesn't feel like a job because it is my true passion. Follow your dreams....do what you love...I did : )

My pledge to you is that I will NEVER sell you anything that I would not have used in my own designs. NEVER.
I will only sell high quality beads and supplies that will make you proud of what YOU are designing : )

If anybody reads this in its entirety....thank you : )

Happy Beading!
Bonnie
