About

Hi! My name is Suzanne. I am a stay at home mom and I have 3 little ones at home with me. I am also a credentialed high school math and science teacher. I'm taking a few years off to stay at home with our children, happily! My husband is sweet and supportive of my "work" and loves everything I make. ;)

I began quilting over 10 years ago, while in college. I still love it and enjoy the challenge of designing my own patterns on occasion. I love the new fabric designers: Amy Butler, Heather Bailey, Philip Jacobs, Kaffe Fasset, among others, and Moda, too. (Of course.) I also love the reproductions and am always so drawn to them!

I got into bow making as our daughters became old enough to wear them. It became a less involved (space-wise) creative outlet for me. I love gardening and nature, so my bows usually reflect that. I suppose my fabric choices do, as well! Bow making is so fun and satisfying for me - I absolutely LOVE IT!

As my interest in bow making has grown, my interest in sewing and quilting has not diminished. I focus on making very high quality items, whether they be bows, quilts, bags, or anything else. My taste makes it difficult for me to cut corners or "go cheap", so be assured that if you purchase an item from my boutique, it will be handmade by me, and will meet my own high standards.

MY PROCESS FOR BOW MAKING:
I put quality and consistency at the top of my priorities. For each of my designs I have done much trial and error before I list all new items. I perfect my "recipe" and keep notes for each creation. Every clip has a complete list of exact measurements of each element and specified colors so I am not guessing at sizes or colors - ever. If you order two of the same clip, they will be as close to identical as humanly possible! :)

My boutique bows are all measured to be exactly the same, and I have a device (my husband made it for me for this very purpose) that allows me to make my bows the same size every time. I hand sew all of my bows with great care and finish them with hot glue to attach the center ribbon. I heat seal ALL cut edges, even hidden ones. There ARE slight variations among ribbon types, I have found, but apples-to-apples are virtually identical.

My materials include a quilter's cutting mat which is ruled with gridlines, a rotary cutter for quick, precise cuts, needle and thread (no wire), and hot glue.
