Meredith Van Scoy's Profile

About

Thank you for visiting my shop and I hope you find something you love and can't live without!

My name is Meredith and I live on Long Island. I am originally from rural Western New York State where I started sewing, crocheting, spinning, weaving, and many other crafts at a very early age. I learned many of my skills from my Mother and Grandmother and competed through the 4-H Program. Because I was always making items for competition I am extremely precise with my work. I believe that things should look as good on the inside as they do on the outside. I was brought up in a home where nothing was wasted and creativity was highly valued. I am also a thrift store addict, so when I was a poor graduate student I started buying Salvation Army sweaters and taking them apart to reuse the yarn. Thank you for visiting my shop and I hope you find something you love and can't live without!

I love being able to take an out of date item and re-imagine it into a stylish new accessory. Many of my items are made from recycled sweaters or scraps of fabric from other projects.

I have a Master's Degree in Theatre Performance and currently work as a professional actor, choreographer, costume stitcher/designer, and of course a waitress, but I have tried to keep up with all of my craft projects. When I feel like I am drowning in the world of theatre and city life, I sit down and do a little crocheting and this helps me find myself again.

I hope that you enjoy the fruits of my relaxation and come back to visit often! Also, don't forget to like my facebook page to receive updates and coupons! https://www.facebook.com/BozzieBoyDesigns

Incidentally, the shop is named for my dog Ozzie whose nickname is Bozzie Boy.
