About

brianna, a colorful dreamer with an imagination and love for all things patterned never thought inside the box. born in los angeles and shortly after she moved across to her mothers hometown. her first road trip across the united states was done before the age of two. maybe this is what compelled her nomadic lifestyle later on. raised by her mother and grandmother until she was ten, she often found peace in the classic stories and nostalgia in the music from the 50′s&60′s. dreams of new york city and paris often haunted her throughout her youth. she started sewing clothing for her dolls at age 3, it is said she knew how to make put an outfit together before she could actually talk.

family vacations played major roles in brianna’s existence. she gained inspiration from the travels and academic adventures she was exposed to. she found herself running away and reading vogue as a child. since ballet was so important in her life growing up, her first way to express herself was through her costumes and tutu’s. eventually she found a love for drawing which carried on when she attended lasalle academy. this was her firsthand introduction to the art world. guided by a wonderful team of teachers who had faith she was able to extend herself, think outside of the box and create. she studied photography, drawing, theater and eventually took part in the recycled fashion shows. annual trips to florence and milan only empathized what she needed to do after graduation.

in 2006 she attended the university of rhode island where she was enrolled as a student. she started going for a bfa in fine arts and realized what she needed was to fully immerse herself in all areas and cover he bases. she then changed and graduated with a ba in art studio, a bs in textiles, merchandise and design, a minor in art history and writing. during her time at the university she was part of a non profit coffee house where she was appointed to be the art coordinator. she did this for five years. she was part of the fashion merchandising society and appointed to be part of the public relations team. during her time at the university she showcased her clothing for four eco-chic fashion shows, two fashion merchandising society shows and two department run fashion shows. in 2009 she interned for a local boutique ck bradley where she learned how to run a boutique, how to sell wholesale, how to produce goods in other countries and played a major part in the design of their upcoming designs. during her time there she was offered to intern in the accessories department at the acclaimed fashion magazine harpers bazaar during the summer.

ecstatic for her new endeavor, she frantically searched craigslist for a place to live and secure. before she took moved to nyc, she took off to south america to backpack in brazi and argentina. while she was there she was forced into learning about a different type of street style, vintage collection and couture. it was very inspiring for the young designer. with her return to the states and move to nyc, her role at harpers bazaar and new life in the city was inspiring life altering. the summer opened up the world of high end and couture. being able to actually touch these clothes and accessories only seen in magazines was exciting and world changing. when her internship ended, she returned with a new insight on the world and fashion.

her last year threw many obstacles in her way but only strengthened her need to live. having gone through something that changed her physically and mentally, she needed an outlet. she entered many fashion shows where she placed “audience favorite” for her “let them eat cake collection” inspired by marie antoinette. she became obsessed with french style and couture, so much so that she set off during the summer of 2010 alone, only being able speak one work a french “bonjour” and spent the summer in lyon and paris where she received a certificate in fashion studies. she returned with a new outlook on the industry, a love for the world and friends in many countries.

she graduated and continued working at many retail jobs. she added ferragamo, nordstrom and dior to the list. eventually she was asked to showcase a collection for a friend in providence. unaware of the doors this would open she showcased and eventually she fell into style week providence. showcasing two collections, gaining a following and numerous local press articles written. it was exciting, but she felt she needed more in life, she needed to live.

in 2012 she picked up and moved back to nyc, no job, no money, only enough to put down to sublet a room and moved to bushwick. always a fan of social media she was able to secure her first job off of instagram which ironically was a foot in the back door to the fashion industry. she worked as a personal assistant for a fabrications company. this company worked creating sets and runway shows for nyfw and worked directly with mht productions. for 3 season she worked as a personal assistant, head client coordinator for collections, handled social media and pr and was employed by both companies. she worked many shows. for example calvin klein, rachel zoe, yigal azrouel, rebecca taylor, edun, ann taylor, sachin & bambi, etc… during this time she also worked as a stylist at seven for all mankind and kate spade on 5th avenue. she also freelance styled for oscar de la renta and inked magazine. she was featured on modcloth as the highlight of their nyfw because of her style. a spontaneous road trip with friends to nashville only heightened her love for vintage. upon her return shortly worked at pier 59 studios as a client coordinator working with rihanna, zooey deschanel, mac, victoria’s secret, etc.. after this she began working at bettie page nyc as a stylist and began styling size 0 to 22 which was an incredible experience. she became the store seamstress and tailored many items. the nyc scene opened a whole new world of love for vintage and burlesque, as well as the fabulous couture costumes.

she now resides in rhode island working in product development, traveling frequently to nyc and boston.
