Thank you for exploring my shop, Burashi Art.

My love for creating art began when I was a little girl. I remember fondly sitting at the kitchen table with my sister, watching as our mom spread out her favorite clipped recipes. She would then have us glue the recipes to construction paper and decorate around them. My mom still has that cherished cookbook.

Growing up, art class fast became one of my favorite subjects. And with encouragement from my parents and grandfather (an accomplished artist), I continued to find my own style. Years later I had sent a handmade notecard to thank a dear friend. She loved it so much she said, “you could sell this!” and so Burashi [pronounced burr-ah-she] Art was born. My love for creating art began when I was a little girl. I remember fondly sitting at the kitchen table with my sister, watching as our mom spread out her favorite clipped recipes. (Which means when translated, "BRUSH ART" ...not sure if it means, toothbrush, hair brush or sweeping with a brush, but it works for me! :) )

Through word of mouth and art shows, I've gradually built a following that has thrived for over 20 years. Many of my customers say that sometimes they find it difficult to mail their purchased cards out because they love the original artwork so much, they want to just keep them for themselves. That TRULY WARMS MY HEART...but go ahead and send them, I’ll paint more. Really! :) Others have commissioned me to make larger paintings for their homes and offices.

Over the years I’ve enjoyed expanding my business to include not only notecards and bookmarks, but beadwork and colorful crocheted items.

Now with the encouragement of my ‘way cool’ husband, I "set up shop" in the Etsy world. I sincerely hope you enjoy your Burashi Art experience.
