About

My interest in buttons started soon after I was married in my 20's. While raising a family, I devoted a lot of time to sewing clothing for us all, and while shopping at yard sales and auctions, I would always pick up button boxes when I could find them. Fast forward 40 years later, carpal tunnel has changed my life. I will never be able to use all the mountains of buttons I have amassed, so it is time to let go.

I started this shop as an avenue to share vintage sewing buttons with seamstresses and crafters while trying to lift the load from my children of trying to decide what to do with them. Nothing gives me more happiness than when one of my valued customers sends me a photo of a dress they are making or a vintage article of clothing and asks me to find buttons for it in my huge collection. As I sorted these buttons I began to wonder more about them....WHAT are they…

As I sorted these buttons I began to wonder more about them....WHAT are they made from, WHEN were they made, and WHY they were made. I began my journey into the world of buttons and found that *gasp* they are collectible! I now belong to a local button group, and the Michigan Button Society. and am learning more about these little works of art.

I am not, by any means, an expert. I am willing to take my best guess. I want to help you find what you need, whether it be for a sewing or knitting project, or to find that special button to complete a card for a show. Thank you for stopping in to look or to take time out of your day to chat.

(After retiring from an interesting Public service career, I have focused on my family and hobbies. I am married to an incredibly understanding and patient man, I have 3 children, two grandchildren and a great big lovable dog.)
