Artist Statement:

I’ve always been a little mad about vintage fashion. Bold colors and whimsical shapes were combined with an attention to detail and craftsmanship that seems lost today. The rise of costume jewelry allowed women to express their individuality and personal style. Sure, costume jewelry featured glass or newly-invented plastics instead of precious materials, but this is what made it so special – adornment was finally within reach of every woman, and what they wore chronicled the changing styles and tastes of a century.

That’s why I’m so thrilled to combine these special vintage and recycled artifacts like Lucite, glass, and enameled metal with modern findings to craft limited-edition modern jewelry that is unique yet highly-wearable (not kitschy:).

I spend countless hours searching for neglected jewelry pieces to reclaim their treasures and recycle them into affordable earrings, necklaces, and bracelets. I like to think that the beads, chains, and other components are grateful to be worn with pride once again.
