I’ve always liked making things and building seemingly impossible contraptions. I'm also repelled by the disposable nature of our consumer society. So, naturally I was drawn to the idea of making products out of discarded materials. I started making items out of discarded cardboard and other materials in the fall of 2008 and I don't have any plans to stop.
The biggest attraction to this medium, for me, is that I get to explore the relationship between the disposable nature of cardboard and the strength it achieves when I arrange it in a specific way. It’s one of the most discarded products in our urban world. I wanted to make it useful, or at least noticed.
