Welcome to the factory floor of CalliopeKitten Handmade Jewelry. The factory elves and I work hard everyday to come up with brighter, bolder, and rainbow-ier pieces for your collection. Well, I work hard - the elves were hired for really cheap, and you get what you pay for. Most of the time they're accidentally spilling sprinkles into mustaches, but at least their accidents turn into something awesome - unlike my cats. If they cause an accident, it is unlikely to be in good condition.

Besides owning 3 shifts of imaginary elves, I am a crazy cat lady, so my shop is inspired by my first cat's name, Calliope. (Kuh-lie-a-pee) Calliope is the Greek muse of Epic Poetry, and inspired Homer in his works. To me, naming my shop after a muse means I will be continuously inspired by the gods ;)

I was inspired to start by my boyfriend's aunt, who one day asked me if I made the earrings I was wearing. I didn't make them, but it made me wonder if I could. Two weeks later, and I was knee deep in beads! My lovely cousin Martini is my main inspiration now, as she works in an art shop and is always there to help.

I'd also like to thank my awesome sister Maddy who has been a great support, my mom who was my very first paying customer, and my boyfriend's mom whose camera I use to take all my photos!

I love doing custom work as well, so if you see something in my shop but need a bit of tweaking to get it in your cart, let me know.
