Hi! I've been selling on Etsy for five years and sewing for ummm, 39 years - yikes, time flies! I still have the little pink dress (with a zipper down the back) that I sewed before going to kindergarten. And because the zipper wasn't enough of a challenge, I apparently also decided to choose a textured fabric - soft white flowers on pink fabric!

I recently changed my shop name to EcoColor to reflect a commitment to using organic fabric. Although I was vaguely aware of the heavy toll on the environment and workers from growing and producing conventional cotton fabric it wasn't until I learned that cotton seed was genetically modified and produced by Monsanto that I immediately switched to organic cotton. Large quantities of fabric which are about to take over my house and 7000 yards of ribbon which I thought I would use up in a couple years but will probably still have around for my great grandchildren to play with
