Carl Jacobson's Profile

About

I'm a visual artist. My current work is mostly centered on my Grace & Grit series where I portray spiritual icons and situations with the grit of reality brought back into the picture, something that is so often missing in modern day depictions. My medium is digital painting that i display on aluminum or brushed through a heat transfer process. My work has been seen on Louisiana Public Broadcasting, and hung at Alex Grey's Microcosm Gallery, RAW: New Orleans, and Stabbed in the Art, Baton Rouge. My artwork has been featured by philosopher Ken Wilber on a DVD of his talks and also on his Integral Naked website. I was honored to have my piece "Brother Ray" used as the invitation to the jam session that followed Ray Charles' funeral, a man I worked closely with in a musical capacity in the last years of his life.

In addition to what is displayed here, I'm open to commissions and I also have the capability to create the pieces you see here in custom sizes. If you have something in mind please ask.
