About

Professional crafter, I have been repairing jewelry for 35 years- yes, as a teenager I was buying old jewelry at the thrift shops and swap meets and repairing and replacing stones and parts and restringing pieces for resale and on request of friends and family and later, for little shops and other sellers in the area.

I am also proficient at naturecrafts such as potpourri and dried floral preparation and arranging, soapmaking (both hot and cold "lye" process soap and melt and pour"), aromatherapy, loom knitting, knitting, crochet, sewing, papercrafts (rubber stamp art, papermaking, scrapbook, etc.), assemblage, altered books, and am now trying to learn the many types of bindings possible in book assembling. My daughter and I are very pro-recycling. She appears more rabid about it than I do- she wears it on her shirts, I wear it in my art- using recycled popcorn tins, found objects, computer parts, typewriter keys, and transistors at various times. I am not afraid to combine stones and pearls with copper washers and words torn from old books and placed into old small light bulbs as a vessel, then added to the piece.

My career choice as a pediatric nurse has kept me young and allowed me to meet people from many walks of life. The children have helped me learn joy in many different experiences; even in the rare occasions I would take care of a terminal child and deal with the sadness of their passing. I think that has helped me in my creative process.

Most of my Etsy experience is as a buyer; however I hope to soon place some of my creations, as well as my kits for sale, here on this site, to share a little of my life and heart and soul with you.
