About

Cathy Carter was born and raised in Long Beach, CA. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a specialty in Drawing and Painting from CSULB.

The image that catches my eye is generally followed by the thought, ‘I want to paint that’. I enjoy making different textures with paint and the mediums, building up layers of colors made transparent by glazing and the feeling of putting paint to the surface, whether it is with a brush, a piece of cardboard, or my fingers. I enjoy the physical movement of painting, the dance with the larger canvas, and the intimate relationship with the smaller works.
