I'm Ilse and I live in Belgium (famous for its hundreds beers, Belgian chocolate and vegetables such as Brussels sprouts, witlof, asparagus...). I was born in the town of Ghent and after having lived there for 49 years, last year I moved to a very small village where I live in a house on a hill (52 m = 170.6 feet high – for Belgians a hill indeed!) with a splendid view on the beautiful region called ‘Vlaamse Ardennen’ (Flemish Ardennes).
I’m in love with timeless objects – modern design but vintage as well – made of simple and pure materials. I’m also fond of typography and typographical objects (perhaps because I studied literature?).
I’m fond of unique jewelry and beads from all over the world which make one dream of ancient times and countries far away such as ethnical beads and trade beads. Copper, bronze, lapis lazuli, old carnelian, turquoise... are my favorites as well.
I like (to create)…
