Alysen:
I left my Southern California lifestyle 23 years ago for France. I live in the suburbs of Paris where my 2 fab kids, our cutie Calico cat Cannelle and my garden provide inspiration. Being a SAHM was enough for many years, but now I'm exploiting my seamstress skills, exploring wire, metal and mixed media. Pre-France, I was a self-employed graphic designer.
Update: 2/2013 ... Thrilled to be an English teacher for a worldwide language school.
I prefer eclectic anything, love embellishment and mixed textures with a little 'GOTCHA' lurking somewhere. I like to revisit certain styles of the late 60's and 70's.
Fave materials include but certainly are not limited to: lace, brocade, silk, leather, velvet, wire, metal, beads, sequins, & yummy yarns and roving.

Peggy:
I have been creating for as long as I can remember. My sister, Robin (who is in business with us) and I used to get the same dolls, etc for Christmas. Mine were always "embellished" beyond recognition and hers would remain as clean and tidy as the day she received it. I was and am always doing something creative, but never really considered myself an artist. I married an incredible artist and we started doing photography together and that led to other projects (sports banners for our boys, etc). I am now very comfortable in calling myself an artist.
I am very proud to say that I have won awards for my photography and that to date I have been featured in Altered Couture twice.
I am so thankful to be working with Alysen and Robin. They inspire me to continue to push myself and develop my skills. Not to mention having to make a trip or two each year to spend time with Al and explore France. Did I mention my addiction to traveling???
Ciao for now..
