Sarah got into knitting one summer through friends she made while working at an arts summer camp. One of the girls she worked with knitted all the time and it looked so interesting that she asked to show her how and Sarah hasn't stopped knitting since! She loves the idea of creating unique articles of clothing from nothing more than a strand of yarn. Sarah is super passionate about knitting, and tries to bring her boho-rocker style to all of the pieces she creates. - 'My favorite pieces to create are simple pieces with an edge, where the yarn really speaks for itself'.

Kristen has always been creative and points to the summer she spent turning her childhood bedroom into a paper rainforest as the point when she knew she was destined for the arts. Already practiced in crocheting and needlepoint, as well as various other graphic design practices, her sister inspired her to give knitting a try too. Sarah's idea to try selling the items they both loved to make but only had so much room for appealed to Kristen, and the etsy shop was born!

The name Chicken Noodle Knits was formed while the sisters had dinner together. "We were talking about the shop and everything that we needed to do to be ready to open," remembers Sarah. "I was getting frustrated trying to come up with a name and, in an attempt at humor I said 'Why don't I just call it Chicken Noodle Soup?' (that's what I was eating at the time.) My sister looked at me with that wide-eyed look one gets when a light bulb goes off in their heads and exclaimed 'Chicken Noodle Knits!'" And here we are!
