A California artist, Susan started ceramics and porcelain painting in 1990 when she began taking lessons and seminars from various teachers including Sue Lancaster, Carlos Spina, Solange Moberg, and others. In 1993 she opened her own ceramic shop, selling supplies and teaching classes. She encouraged her students to enter the local competition and actively participated herself. She has won blue ribbons at the LA County Fair and the Southern California Ceramic society for her ceramics and porcelain painting. She was awarded the highest award for professional ceramics in class, division, and category for a hand thrown, raku art piece awarded by the California Doll and Ceramic Society. Twice she has won first prize at the Beatrice Wood Gallery for the Arts in Ojai. She is a member of the American Museum of Ceramic Art, the Southern California Potters Guild, Design Chapter and the Ventura County Potters Guild. I paint almost everyday and…
