About

My art career began at the age of 6 when I was sent outside to clean sweet corn for our family dinner. The corn did not return in a timely way....I was involved in a spontaneous craft project with corn silk and husks. Throughout my life my involvement in the art world has continued. Attracted to the natural world around me, my designs, from the sleekest to the most involved, are all inspired in some way by nature.

I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts from Siena Heights University. It includes a major in drawing and painting, with a minor in jewelry. At this time I also completed a semester of study in Florence, Italy under the auspices of Siena Heights.

The corn did not return in a timely way....I was involved in a spontaneous craft project with corn silk and husks. Throughout my life my involvement in the art world has continued. I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts from Siena Heights University. It includes a major in drawing and painting, with a minor in jewelry. At this time I also completed a semester of study in Florence, Italy under the auspices of Siena Heights.
I received my Master of Fine Arts from Western Michigan University. I started this program in printmaking because I was drawn to the rich textural possibilities in the etching process. It was not only texture on paper that had drawn my attention, but also the texture on my printing plates! I found myself cutting my etching plates apart and making jewelry! I switched programs, and received my degree in metalsmithing and jewelry design. Since that time, I have spent 25 years producing award winning jewelry.

AND...When I am not in my studio...I might be outside looking for a dragonfly to admire, or fishing for bluegills, or hunting for morel mushrooms in the spring of course!!

My studio buddy Kai the umbrella cockatoo insists that he say "HELLO" to his new etsy friends!

I hope that you will enjoy my work as much as I enjoy creating it!!
