In early 2010, at the age of 21, I taught myself to knit while I was a "stay-at-home-girlfriend" and felt that I needed to find something I enjoyed to do during the day. I still couldn't tell you why I chose knitting to occupy my time, but I dedicated myself to learning (almost exclusively by watching videos on knittinghelp.com - an amazing knitting resource) and even posted on knitting forums a couple times when I could not figure out what the heck I was doing wrong on a project. One of the first few projects I made was a little stuffed bunny and, though it turned out pretty cute, I realized that I really liked the way stuffed things, or amigurumi (crocheted or knit stuffed animals and anthropomorphic creatures), look when they were crocheted. After this realization, I taught myself how to crochet (not without a whollllllllle lot of trouble and frustration!) and developed a passion for making amigurumi!
After a few months of making a whole lot of amigurumi, for no other reason than I enjoyed doing it, my family successfully convinced me to open up an Etsy shop and start sharing my creations with the world! In my wildest dreams I never expected my shop to be so successful and I feel so thrilled and honored that the amazing buyers on Etsy think my creations are worth paying money for.
I eventually confiscated my mom's old sewing machine and have found a new and flourishing love for sewing which is why you will randomly see some sewn items listed in my shop too!
In other news, I love a cup of hot tea or coffee, baking, listening to audio books, snuggles with my sweet feline friend, fruit, gaming, my loving husband and, of course, to craft my days away.
