Creativity is in my blood. I'm sure we can all say that, but it's truly surrounded me for longer than I can remember. For a long time I didn't consider myself an artist—my brothers and sisters could all draw and paint and sculpt and do lovely things, while mainly I was a writer, who dabbled in crafts. It took me some time (and self-realization) to understand that writing and needlework and things like knitting and crochet and other kinds of fiber crafts really were art. I am an artist, and I have been my whole life.

More specifically, I'm a young twenty-something, trying to pay off college debts while working on my first Young Adult novel. I had wanted to know how to knit and crochet for years and years before I learned, and I'm almost entirely self-taught, while being forever in debt to a college friend who taught me the basic knit stitch…

I've recently learned the basics of softcover journal making, thanks to a long day of watching youtube videos, and I've fallen completely in love with this technique!
