Katherine Bagley's Profile

About

I am a jewelry artist that loves color, nature and textures and am inspired by the wonderful creation that we live in.

I made my first piece of jewelry in high school (a long time ago!) and when I was playing around and learning this new form of craft I was instantly hooked. How cool is it that you can take a piece of wire and a bit of silver sheet and create out of it something so beautiful?! It's fascinating and mysterious and I find myself wowed by the process even to this day.

Life takes us on different paths and mine was diverted from making jewelry for 20+ years. Even though I found different ways to stay creative, jewelry has always been my passion. I am excited to be in the process again and look forward to seeing where this path will take me.

I work mostly in sterling silver but occasionally throw in a gold filled accent on a piece or sometimes copper. I am in love with sea glass and while it's not in every piece I make it is one of my favorite resources to work with. You can be assured that the glass I use is always tumbled in nature not by machine and my pieces come from as close as my home on the North Shore of Boston to as far as across the sea to Spain and England. Any sea glass that I purchase has always come from a reliable source and I don't change a thing. Most pieces will come with a cutout back so the natural light will show off the glorious colors of the sea glass.
