I am a textile artist! I enjoy creating fanciful, representative, abstract, and occasionally functional forms of art.

Textiles provide an amazing pallet and the interactive, tactile nature of fiber is a soothing, relaxing medium to play with!

Embellishing with fibers, thread, beads and baubles is my ‘doodling.' Something I have done endlessly on paper since childhood.

Much of my work is machine pieced, and quilted.

Here is a little bit about the different things I make.

Embellishing with fibers, thread, beads and baubles is my ‘doodling.' Something I have done endlessly on paper since childhood.

Much of my work is machine pieced, and quilted.

Here is a little bit about the different things I make.

Textile Wall Art - My textile art pieces are original. I occasionally include my own altered fabrics in my work. Items come in a variety of sizes, techniques, and subject matter. All pieces have a hanging sleeve, or triangles, depending on size. However, mounting to drywall with little silk pins works nicely as well.

ACEOs - Art Card Editions and Originals also known as ATC Artist Trading Cards. These 2.5 X 3.5 inch pieces of art are individually hand crafted and often completed in series as I love working through stages and in the end completing several pieces that are distinctly different though quite similar. Sometimes an entire series is completed in a timely manner. Other times pieces of a series take a back seat and aren't finished for weeks, months, occasionally years!

Art Postcards- These 4 X 6 inch pieces of art are miniature versions of my work. I use a variety of binding techniques. They can be reasonably mounted and framed without glass to encourage the interactive aspect of fiber art. Your local thrift store has many frames without glass available at reasonable prices. Most if not all my frames are thrift shopping or yard sale finds. Matching the piece to the frame is like a final brushstroke.

Altered Fabrics and Batiks- Each individual piece varies in size and technique. I often create a series of pieces when I find a particularly interesting idea or technique. I have a collection of original stencils I have created. Except for the Batiks, the acrylic paint used has been fixed with a textile medium, which retains the hand of the cloth, it stays soft and flexible. I will sew a narrow casing and hem the edges if you wish to hang a piece as is, or they are ready for your use in textile art of your creation. (Or mine if I get to it first!

Quilts- These come in a variety of shapes and sizes. They can be used as table, altar or wall art. A hanging sleeve can be added by request. Occasionally a few one of a kind, throw or lap size, quilts appear as well.

Reusable Journal Covers - Each reusable Journal Cover fits a standard 9.75 X 7.5 inch, composition book, and ships with one, ready to use! Many of these covers are made with scraps left from larger textile art pieces. Each one is signed and numbered, as they are often created in sets from materials left over from another project.

Prayer Flags- Prayer flags range in size from 8 X 8 inches to 10 X 10 inches, and many variations in between! They are created in a variety of techniques that include bleach discharge, stenciling or painted freehand with acrylic or fabric paints. The background foundation pieces are a variety of solid colors or the recycled results of fabric manipulation practice! Each flag has a narrow casing at the top which allows a dowel or string to move freely from side to side. The intentional raw edges allow the threads of your prayers to be carried on the wind as they fray.

Scarves- Knit or created with the broomstick lace pattern my scarves are made from a variety of remnant fibers. Reclaimed acrylic and wool yarns, as well as fabric remnants are used. Each scarf is unique and fun!

Iron On Patches- There are two series available made from 6 X 6 inch denim patches I was collecting for a rag quilt, repurposed a second time as little applique thread painted landscapes and seascapes. Each is backed with a piece of fusible web, for stabilizing as sewing is recommended.
