Carey Coco's Profile

About

I began making things out of clay as a kid, making mud pies! My passion didn't come full circle until I was able to focus on pottery in college. I spent several years in the studio studying under Master Potter Gary Ratcliff in Monroe Louisiana.

These days I spend as much time as I can in my home studio, focusing on functional pottery, such as plates, mugs and bowls. I believe in the value of bringing art into your daily live. I believe that using handmade pottery keeps us connected to others and can make something as simple as morning coffee an art-filled experience.

I have been spreading the love of clay by teaching community classes to adults through Drops of Jupiter, a local gallery. I also teach young adults clay classes during "Kids at College" located at Polk State College.
I also teach in small private groups.
