- HOW TO APPLY GLITTER TO FABRIC -

Mix washer-safe fabric glue with the glitter. Apply to fabric.
or
Mix washer-safe clear-color fabric paint with the glitter. Apply to fabric.

First test these techniques on a piece of fabric you don't need. Different substances work differently on different fabrics.

After washing, line dry the glittered fabric. Do not iron. It probably shouldn't be dry cleaned.

For fabric that will not be washed or dry cleaned, a sealant can be added for extra hold if necessary. First let the fabric dry thoroughly after applying glitter. Then use a clear sealant designed for fabric. Spray it on the glittered area in a well-ventilated area. I would make sure the chosen glue and sealant will work together by contacting the manufacturers first.

The glues, clear paints, and sealants described above are widely available at places like Michaels and Hobby Lobby.

- HOW TO GET GLITTER TO STAY ON AND NOT COME OFF -

Non-porous items - Affix the glitter as you normally would for the given type of item. Let it dry thoroughly. Then apply a clear decoupage glue over the top. I would not use ModPodge because it does not dry completely on some items.

Porous items - Same as non-porous items, but use a spray sealant instead of decoupage glue.

Paper - An avid scrapbooker recommended Heat and Bond from Stampin Up to me. She says it works great for glitter on paper crafts.

Fabric - See "How to apply glitter to fabric" above this section.

- HOW TO USE EMBOSSING POWDER -

SUPPLIES NEEDED: Embossing powder is usually applied with a stamp, an ink pad or an embossing pad, and a heating tool. Martha Stewart Crafts and other companies have easy to use heating tools available. For embossing, an ink pad should contain pigment ink rather than any other type of ink. A light color or clear ink pad or embossing pad is best.

HOW TO APPLY - EASY!: Stamp the image onto a surface as if you were doing regular stamping. While stamped image is still wet, sprinkle embossing powder over the stamped area. Shake off excess. Heat the powdered image until the powder melts and the image has a raised, glossy finish. Allow to cool for 30 seconds.

- A FEW WAYS TO TEXTURIZE AND ADD EMPHASIS WITH FLOCKING POWDER -

Highlight areas with this soft fluffy or velvet texture:

1 Most common. Apply glue to a surface alone or with a stamp. Pour flocking powder over glue. Press lightly to thoroughly adhere.

2 Most advanced. Use with pigment ink and an adhesive powder.

3 Least messy. Use with double sided sticky tape.

4 Fastest shapes. Use with flat stickers. Remove sticker from backing. Apply flock to adhesive back of sticker. Glue front of sticker to item's surface.

Fun tip: Mix flock with a little glitter for both softness and sparkle.
