Colores de la Tierra wants to rescue the dyers work preserving ancient techniques and developing new ones. Colores de la Tierra seeks that people recognize that natural dyes no only benefit the environment but also the communities that have kept these traditions for generations; Colores de la Tierra desires to show people the beauty of natural colors.
Colores de la tierra buys the fiber, cuts the patterns by hand, dyes the fiber by hand, then makes the last details like knotting the ends of a scarf or sewing a laptop cover in a sewing machine. The process of dying with natural fiber can be very slow, sometimes taking weeks for the dye to be ready to use.
