Talia Halliday's Profile
In July 2009 I became a biological mother for the first time, and I found myself needing to create in order to keep any semblance of sanity. I Love my child, but I needed an outlet, a catharsis - and making was just that. I had been binding books in my spare time since undergrad, and now, with (very little) time on my hands, I started binding again, only with scrap materials left around my home.
I began to list the handmade journals I was making on Etsy and eventually applied for my first craft show to sell those items. I'd never imagined I would build a business from that little bit of sanity, but that's exactly what happened. In 2010 I began to create lines of work with consistency to represent the brand I was creating. I wanted all of my designs to focus on repurposing materials, and creating something new and beautiful from something lost and forgotten…
