Joy Abigail Webster's Profile

About

I learned about collage in junior high art class and I fell in love with it. I remember watching TV next to Dad on the couch -a magazine in one hand and scissors in the other- flipping and clipping, sorting and pasting to my heart's content.

That was two decades, two diplomas, two languages and two office jobs ago, and I'm over a thousand miles away from from my childhood home. But despite the time and space that distances me from those moments, I recently discovered that creating a collage still takes me to my happy place.

ECO-FRIENDLY
Collage art itself can be considered an eco-friendly art form because of the repurposing/upcycling of paper products that would usually be destined for a landfill. I strive to be environmentally conscious when I am creating and shipping my artwork. I use eco-friendly....

....Source materials:
-secondhand magazines & books
-original ephemera

.....Base materials:
-recycled, acid-free paper and cardboard
-some paper and journals were even made at plants that use 100% renewable energy

....Packaging:

- shipped in an eco-friendly protective sleeve
- shipped with minimal packaging to reduce waste
